Drupal 7 is on its 2nd RC version today so it's definitely time to give it a try. Which coincided nicely with some thinking it was time to dust off and refurbish the very first URL I started off with on the big ol' WWW. Downloading and installing Drupal 7 was about as easy as could be -- almost as easy as the famously easy Wordpress install. That's going to be pretty big for Drupal making inroads into being more accessible to users than its past reputation as mainly for developers (Drupal 6 already went a good ways forward in that direction).
Drupal really missed the boat in not more actively supporting webcomics a few years ago and now Wordpress with the help of the very effective Comicpress theme has taken a huge chunk of that market share. If you're starting from scratch Wordpress + Comicpress is a great way to get going.
So to follow up on the previous post of today I just finished reading over lunch Phil Weiser's paper, FCC Reform and the Future of Telecommunications Policy that was presented at yesterday's conference on FCC reform. It is entirely worth reading as it presents a comprehensive review of FCC performance within the existing paradigm of administrative procedures for U.S. government agencies.
I met Ted from Lullabot at a DC Drupal Meetup last month. A very nice guy who explained some Drupal theme issues very clearly. So no surprise that his videoblog is really well done.
